The 2017 Thunder Road season kicks into high gear this Thursday, June 29 with Community College of Vermont Night. The program marks the first of three events in an eight-day span on the Barre high banks, and title aspirations will begin to get serious in the Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, and Allen Lumber Street Stocks.

Waterbury Center’s Jason Woodard doubled down with a pair of Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger feature victories on North Country Federal Credit Union Night at Barre’s Thunder Road on Thursday, June 22. The former Champion captured his third career win after surviving a final three-lap dash in the Myers Container Service Triple Crown Series make-up event to open the program, then ended the evening with his fourth Tiger triumph in the regularly scheduled North Country Federal Credit Union event.

Thunder Road officials have announced today that the Warriors will be returning to the Barre high banks beginning Thursday, July 20 as part of Fairpoint Communications Night. The entry-level division previously competed at the track from 2003 through 2011.

The Thunder Road summer racing season motors on this Thursday, June 22 with North Country Federal Credit Union Night. The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers have the main stage with double features on tap for the track’s storied division.

Northfield’s Matt White and Montpelier’s Kyle Pembroke were the stars of the Late Model double features at Thunder Road’s Casella Night on Thursday, June 15. White earned his sixth Late Model victory in the Harvest Equipment make-up feature, while Pembroke made a late charge to score his fifth career victory in the regularly scheduled Casella event.

Thunder Road is set to kick off a summer of racing with Casella Night this Thursday, June 15. After a trio of Sunday events, the quarter-mile oval opens its traditional Thursday night racing schedule with an action-packed program featuring double features for the Late Models and the annual appearance of the New England Antique Racers (N.E.A.R.).

Colchester’s Scott Payea was atop the pack when the dust settled on Sunday, June 11, coming from behind to score his second straight American-Canadian Tour (ACT) victory in the 19th Community Bank 150 at Barre’s Thunder Road.
