The battle to be the 2019 “King of the Road” begins Sunday, May 26 at 1:30pm. The 57th Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic is one of the oldest races at Thunder Road, and once again, it will be the opener of a 14-round Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model campaign that spans from late-May to mid-September.

Hometown racer Jason Corliss dominated down the stretch to take his second consecutive Community Bank N.A. 150 at Barre’s Thunder Road on Sunday, May 5. Corliss held off a mid-race charge from reigning “King of the Road” Scott Dragon of Milton, VT to grab his third consecutive ACT Late Model Tour win at Thunder and 13th career Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model victory at the “Nation’s Site of Excitement”.

The pits were bustling at Barre’s Thunder Road on Saturday, May 4 as teams from throughout the Northeastern U.S. and Canada converged for Community Bank N.A. 150 Practice Day. A total of 113 cars across four divisions took to the high banks with 98 of them also appearing at the morning’s Thunder Road Car Show.

Thunder Road is finally ready to open its 60th season of racing this Sunday, May 5 at 1:30pm. The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) is coming to town for the 21st Community Bank N.A. 150, and all sorts of faces familiar to central Vermont racing fans will be along for the ride.

Thunder Road management has unveiled its plans for a series of facility projects that have recently been undertaken at the historic quarter-mile oval. The projects are part of the goal set by track owners Cris Michaud and Pat Malone to make Thunder Road a showplace for racing and entertainment in the Northeastern United States.

Thunder Road’s longest-running four-cylinder division is back to bring the thrills in 2019. The Allen Lumber Street Stocks begin their championship season on Sunday, May 5 at the 21st Community Bank N.A. 150 and will once again feature a dynamic mix of longtime veterans of the sport and youngsters starting their climb up the racing ladder.

The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers are ready to open their 2019 championship battle at Barre’s Thunder Road on Sunday, April 28 at 1:30pm as part of the Community Bank N.A. 150. Early indications are that it could be one of the largest, most wide-open battles in years with numerous drivers capable of earning the crown.
