Barre, VT – Barre’s Thunder Road is about to rev up for a big month of racing to close out a great 2019 season. “High-Stakes September” begins with two days of action on the Barre high banks on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1. The Coca-Cola Labor Day Classic weekend is just the start of a month-long stretch that sends off the 60th season of racing with three of the biggest events of the year.

The final Thursday event may have been run, but there is plenty of action left to be had at the “Nation’s Site of Excitement” before the curtains are drawn on 2019.

Barre, VT – Shelburne’s Trampas Demers made a big move in the 2019 “King of the Road” title chase by earning his second Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model win of the year on Thursday, August 22. Demers took the lead from Westford’s Darrell Morin early in the 50-lap feature and held off a late charge from Northfield’s Matt White for the win at Jet Service Envelope/Accura Printing Night.

Barre, VT – Thunder Road officials have announced the addition of the “Road Warrior Challenge” to the Coca-Cola Labor Day Classic on Sunday, September 1. The Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors will run a 50-lap, $500-to-win feature on Labor Day Sunday – the longest and highest-paying event in the division’s history.

Barre, VT – Officials from the Bullring Bash Quarter Mile Challenge presented by RaceChoice.com and Thunder Road Speedbowl have jointly agreed to cancel the Bullring Bash’s appearance at the Coca-Cola Labor Day Classic on Sunday, September 1.

The Bullring Bash portion of the schedule, which was to consist of a 100-lap Tour-type Modified event and a 35-lap event for the Midstate Site Development Legends, will not be rescheduled. The remaining portion of the Labor Day Classic at Thunder Road, which includes a 200-lap event for the American-Canadian Tour and a 50-lap event for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, is still on as scheduled.

Barre, VT – Northfield’s Matt White barreled to his first Thunder Road win in more than two years by taking the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model victory on Thursday, August 15 at Vermont Tire & Service Night. White dove underneath Washington’s Ricky Roberts for the lead early in the 50-lap feature and never let go of the top spot.
