Barre, VT — We all sat in awe as Barre’s own Nick Sweet took down a blistering 12.107-second time during Booth Bros/HP Hood Time Trials as part of the 59th annual Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank. Now, in 2022, fans both trackside and around the world on FloRacing will be given a new definition of speed on the iconic Thunder Road high-banks.

Before turning the page to 2022, Thunder Road is taking one last look back at the most memorable events of the 2021 season. We know every event is memorable to someone, but in the humble opinion of our staff, these are five events that stood out from the rest. Barre, VT — The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) announced today that it has completed the move of its main offices to Barre, VT. It is the first time that ACT has moved to a new headquarters since the organization’s founding in 1986.

All ACT day-to-day operations and administrative work will now be conducted at 105 North Main Street, Suite 208 in Barre. The office is on the second floor of the building. Prior to the move, the ACT offices had been located on Stowe Street in Waterbury, VT.

Barre, VT — Thunder Road officials have unveiled an action-packed 19-event racing schedule for the 2022 season. The 63rd season of stock car racing atop Quarry Hill features many traditional fan-favorite events along with a few new tweaks, all of which will again be broadcast live worldwide on FloRacing.

Waterbury, VT — The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) has distributed nearly $140,000 worth of season-ending awards to cap the 2021 racing season. This includes awards from the ACT Late Model Tour, Thunder Road Speedbowl, White Mountain Motorsports Park (WMMP), and the New England Late Model Challenge Cup.

2 —Trevor Sanborn and McKenna Merchant both won their first career starts at Thunder Road. Sanborn won the PASS Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel 150 on October 1 while Merchant took the Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Truck special on October 16.

3 — Jason Corliss became just the third driver to win three straight “King of the Road” titles. He joins Chuck Beede (1992-94) and Derrick O’Donnell (2013-15). All three drivers did so in the modern Late Model division.

4 — Nick Sweet won his fourth Northfield Savings Bank Vermont Milk Bowl, equaling Robbie Crouch for the most all-time.

Hello all. As we write this, it’s early November, and the racing season in the Northeast has pretty much ended. With the breathtaking ACT championship event still fresh on our minds, we wanted to touch base with our family of tracks, teams, and fans to look back on 2021 and start looking forward to the 2022 campaign.
