Barre, VT — In honor of the 246th birthday of our United States of America, the Preston’s Kia Independence Day Spectacular on Sunday, July 3rd is ready to present fireworks both on and off the racetrack at Barre, Vermont’s Thunder Road. Following Thursday’s Scout Night event, the standings in all three point-counting divisions have received quite the shake up and leave much to be settled moving into the month of July.

Barre, VT — The month of June ended with the thunderous roar from high atop Quarry Hill in Barre, Vermont on Thursday, June 30th. At the end, it was four triumphant returns to victory lane as Williamstown’s Nate ‘Tater’ Brien, Plainfield’s Patrick Tibbetts, Barre’s Jason Pelkey and Montpelier’s Cody Blake all found victory lane once again, but for the first time in 2022.

Barre, VT — Ending the month of June, the thunder and lightning of Thunder Road International Speedbowl returns on Thursday, June 30th with the annual four-division Scout Night plus Kids Rides from 4:00 to 4:45pm. The standings in all three championship divisions remain tight while the return from a two-week-off absence for the Road Warriors insures plenty of action throughout the night.

Young Woodard Sweeps R&R Open Invaders, Lowrey Takes Tiger Win, Kyle Gravel and Zach Audet Take First Street Stock Wins

The fireworks started off early with the rain-postponed Casella Waste Management 50-lapper for the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models. From the pole position hard-luck driver Scott Coburn led the early war but was overtaken by Memorial Day Classic winner Stephen Donahue on lap 15. Donahue continued to dominate through a lap-22 scramble in turn four between the 94VT of Brendan Moodie and the 0VT of Scott Dragon that took out contenders Brooks Clark and Bobby Therrien. Donahue started the night on a high note, taking the win over Chris Roberts and Dragon.

Due to the uncertain weather forecast with a huge program, including Double Features and travelling V-8 Street Stock teams from Maine, Connecticut and Rhode Island, Thunder Road Officials have made the difficult decision to postpone tonight’s epic Community College of Vermont program to tomorrow, Friday June 24th.

Barre, VT — Following their extremely successful one-off V-8 Street Stock opens at Lee USA Speedway and White Mountain Motorsports Park in the past, the newly established R&R Race Parts Open Street Stock Series is ready to invade Barre, Vermont’s Thunder Road International Speedbowl this Thursday, June 23rd for Community College of Vermont Night.

Barre, VT — The traditional Thunder Road Thursday Night opener in 2022 was a little more wet than anyone planned for and when the rains came, they came hard. With the constant threat of rain forcing officials to push the show along, Casella Waste Management Night schedule bobbed and weaved with the forecast. When it was all said and done, monsoon rains finally descended on high banks just after lap 35 of the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers feature leaving two teams from Williamstown very happy, albeit wet, campers.
