Barre, VT — For the 38th time enduro cars from across New England converged onto the Thunder Road International Speedbowl for the ‘People’s Race.’ The annual $3,000-to-Win event for junkyard stars brought in ninety-one cars of all makes, models, shapes, sizes and colors! Along with the epic once-a-year, slam-bang tradition came the annual rk Miles Street Stock Special presented by Bolduc Metal Recycling. The 50-lap special brought out the best and brightest in the four-cylinder ranks, leaving a former champion triumphant in victory lane.

Gravel and Couture Get 1st Wins of the Season

Barre, VT — On a hot and sticky night high atop Quarry Hill, the Thunder Road faithful returned for another stellar night of side-by-side stock car racing on Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac Night. In the end, Sam Caron grabbed his first Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger win of the season but it wasn’t enough to stop Derrick Calkins from taking the Myers Container Service Triple Crown Championship. Marcel Gravel used a late-race outside pass to win the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model’s feature, rk Miles Street Stock rookie Zach Audet took his first point-counting win and local-boy Chris ‘Creature’ Couture took his first Burnett Scrap Metal Road Warrior win.

Barre, VT — The first Thunder Road champion of the season will be crowned this Thursday night as part of a jam-packed Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac night on August 4th. It’s the final round of the Myers Container Service Flying Tiger Triple Crown and the 2022 edition is going out in style with the Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac 100, the longest race of the season for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers! All Thunder Road divisions will be on the track, and on the front stretch for the rescheduled Times Argus Autograph Session!

Barre, VT — Graniteville’s Christopher Pelkey used the outside groove at Thunder Road on Thursday to take down his second consecutive Times Argus Midseason Championship.
