Not only that, but it’s also time for the return of Run-What-U-Brung, the spectator drags that every Thunder Road fan looks forward to with some getting in on the action at their favorite hometown racetrack!

Barre, VT — It felt like Milk Bowl weather on Quarry Hill Thursday night as four divisions of racing took off on Vermont Tire & Service Night at Barre’s Thunder Road. 100 cars took battle on a rare cool August evening as the 2022 season begins its dreaded downhill slope. In the end, four first time winners on the season took home the final FloRacing Double Purse winner’s checks and stood tall among their fellow competitors.

The Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors all return for the Double Purse courtesy of our streaming partners at FloRacing. Also on the schedule is the annual Kid’s Poster Contest with three divisions eligible, ages 0 to 5, ages 6 to 9 and ages 10-and-up with trophies for the top three in each division!

Barre, VT — On yet another Thursday night in Central Vermont, rain played her part at Thunder Road International Speedbowl. Delayed by thirty minutes, the Nolato Night activities took off at 7:30pm with four divisions of action and over 90 cars in attendance wrapping the night up at seven-seconds past 10:00pm. In the end, another week of first time winners in 2022 stood in victory lane while many others put some extra padding in their track championship standings.

Barre, VT — For the 38th time enduro cars from across New England converged onto the Thunder Road International Speedbowl for the ‘People’s Race.’ The annual $3,000-to-Win event for junkyard stars brought in ninety-one cars of all makes, models, shapes, sizes and colors! Along with the epic once-a-year, slam-bang tradition came the annual rk Miles Street Stock Special presented by Bolduc Metal Recycling. The 50-lap special brought out the best and brightest in the four-cylinder ranks, leaving a former champion triumphant in victory lane.

Gravel and Couture Get 1st Wins of the Season

Barre, VT — On a hot and sticky night high atop Quarry Hill, the Thunder Road faithful returned for another stellar night of side-by-side stock car racing on Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac Night. In the end, Sam Caron grabbed his first Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger win of the season but it wasn’t enough to stop Derrick Calkins from taking the Myers Container Service Triple Crown Championship. Marcel Gravel used a late-race outside pass to win the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model’s feature, rk Miles Street Stock rookie Zach Audet took his first point-counting win and local-boy Chris ‘Creature’ Couture took his first Burnett Scrap Metal Road Warrior win.
