Community College of Vermont will now support the annual 50-lap Challenge for the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors on Thursday, August 8.

Barre, VT — Longtime Thunder Road supporter, historian, car owner and builder Lloyd Hutchins passed away yesterday, January 3, 2024. Hutchins got his start with Thunder Road International Speedbowl while the track was being built in the spring of 1960. He worked alongside Ken Squier and the Cooley Brothers to carve the iconic highbanks out of a vast farm at the end of Fisher Road. As the story goes, it was Hutchins who helped place the railroad ties along the frontstretch as the first wall, placing them on the infamous angle that later gave it the Widowmaker moniker.

Barre, VT ­— Officials with the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) announced today that the historic Tour and its sanctioned tracks, Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl and White Mountain Motorsports Park will be represented at the 35th annual Northeast Motorsports Expo at the Augusta Civic Center in Augusta, Maine from Friday, January 12 through Sunday, January 14. Representatives will be on-hand all weekend to discuss the upcoming season, offer schedules and sell advance tickets to the SRX event at Thunder Road on Thursday, July 18!
