Barre, VT — Although a bright morning cast a hopeful glimpse for Friday’s weekly racing opener at Thunder Road, forecasts continue to indicate a five-hour window of unstable weather starting anytime after 4:00pm across the Barre/Montpelier area. With that forecast holding steady over the last several days, and with a touring series as part of Friday’s planned event, Thunder Road officials have made the difficult decision to postpone McGee Hyundai of Barre Night to Friday, September 6. There will be no racing on Friday, June 7 at Thunder Road.

Barre, VT — Starting a picture-perfect day on Quarry Hill last Sunday, Thunder Road Speedbowl managing partner Cris Michaud announced the creation of the Squier Cup in honor of late Thunder Road founder Ken Squier with a new granite monument at the Speedbowl he created back in 1960. The Squier Cup is a triple crown series for the Maplefield/Irving Late Models that call Thunder Road home every week, made up of three marquee events with the inaugural champion earning their name in Barre Gray granite and the first name on the new Squier Cup!

Barre, VT — On a beautiful Sunday morning, Thunder Road officials announced the creation of the Squier Cup for the Late Model Triple Crown at the Nation’s Site of Excitement starting with the 61st Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic. Twenty-five Maplefield/Irving Late Models filed into the pit area, quite the full one as a matter of fact with the 3rd annual addition of the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series.
