Following the ever-popular Kids Rides, twenty-six Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers competed for starting position in the first round of the Myers Container Service Triple Crown Series. Four drivers earned a +3 handicap through the heats to lead the field in their 75-lap feature.

While the majority of the schedule remains in place, the 45th Vermont Governor’s Cup will now be contested on Thursday, July 11 with the addition of the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors to make it a four-division card. Thursday, July 11th’s originally scheduled events, including the second round of the Myers Container Service Triple Crown have been moved to a new twilight Sunday special on August 11.

With the forecast not only calling for thunderstorms but also a severe threat that includes high winds, concentrated lightning and the possibility of hail, officials felt their hands were tied once again by Mother Nature.
