Therrien Crowned “King of the Road” on CCV Championship Night

Hinesburg’s Bobby Therrien became the first driver in Thunder Road’s modern era to win championships in three different divisions as he was crowned the 2017 “King of the Road” at Community College of Vermont Championship Night on Sunday, September 10. The new Thunder Road Late Model Champion previously won titles in the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers in 2012 and the Allen Lumber Street Stocks in 2007.

Thunder Road Champions Set To Be Crowned On Community College of Vermont Night

The final point-counting event of the season at Barre’s Thunder Road is set for this Friday, September 8 at 7:00pm with Community College of Vermont (CCV) Championship Night. The Thunder Road Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, and Allen Lumber Street Stocks will all crown their champions at the Friday night affair that was previously postponed due to weather.

Labor Day Classic Postponed Until Monday

Thunder Road and American-Canadian Tour (ACT) officials have postponed the Coca-Cola Labor Day Classic 200 originally scheduled for Sunday, September 3 due to a rainy forecast. The event has been rescheduled for Monday, September 4 at 1:00pm.

The 39th Labor Day Classic will feature the ACT Late Model Tour with Scott Payea, Dillon Moltz, Nick Sweet, Bobby Therrien and other top drivers of the Northeast set to go at it for 200 laps of green-flag action. The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, Allen Lumber Street Stocks, and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors are also on the card as the Thunder Road championship chases near their exciting conclusion.

Admission for the special holiday Monday of racing is $25 for adults and free for kids ages 12 and under. The pits will open at 8:00am and the front gates will open at 10:00am.
