The 55th Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1 will see a familiar face return to the Barre high banks. Shelburne, Vt. native Kevin Lepage, a three-time Milk Bowl Champion, has officially entered the “Toughest Short Track Stock Car Race in North America” and will look for victory number four in what is expected to be his final event behind the wheel.

Barre’s Thunder Road caps off the 2017 racing season with the 55th Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1. Drivers from throughout New England and Quebec have already entered the event, but a number of local racers are expected to take on the invaders and defend their home turf in “The Toughest Short Track Stock Car Race in North America”.

Hinesburg’s Bobby Therrien became the first driver in Thunder Road’s modern era to win championships in three different divisions as he was crowned the 2017 “King of the Road” at Community College of Vermont Championship Night on Sunday, September 10. The new Thunder Road Late Model Champion previously won titles in the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers in 2012 and the Allen Lumber Street Stocks in 2007.

Due to an inclement forecast, Thunder Road officials have postponed the Community College of Vermont (CCV) Championship Night that was scheduled for Friday, September 8. The event has been rescheduled for Sunday, September 10 at 2:00pm.

The final point-counting event of the season at Barre’s Thunder Road is set for this Friday, September 8 at 7:00pm with Community College of Vermont (CCV) Championship Night. The Thunder Road Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, and Allen Lumber Street Stocks will all crown their champions at the Friday night affair that was previously postponed due to weather.

St. Albert, Qué.’s Alex Labbé has filed the first official entry for the 55th Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1. The 2014 Serié ACT Champion will look to become the first Canadian driver since 2008 to win the historic event.

Milton’s Scott Payea put an exclamation point on his 2017 American-Canadian Tour (ACT) championship bid, coming back from an early crash to score his fifth win of the season in the 39th Coca-Cola Labor Day Classic at Barre’s Thunder Road on Monday, September 4.
