Barre, VT — After what can easily be considered one of the best Thursday night racing programs of the 2023 season, the Thunder Road faithful are hard at work to repair and rejuvenate their trusty machines in preparation for the Preston’s Kia Fireworks Spectacular this Sunday, July 30th. Although Thursday’s racing action was hot on the track, the hair-raising point standing changes are putting even more pressure on teams and drivers with their quick turn-around into Sunday’s events.

Barre, VT — Rain once again played its part in a Thursday at Thunder Road after plenty of the wet stuff fell from the sky to delay the start of practice on WDEV/Calkins Portable Toilets night. Officials remained persistent and dried the track on three separate occasions with the sun helping out on the final session. Through it all, persistence paid off with fans witnessing one of the best Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model events of the season as the King of the Road championship chase continues to be as close as ever this year.

Barre, VT — This Thursday brings back another jam-packed night of racing at the Nation’s Site of Excitement as the 44th Vermont Governor’s Cup presented by the Vermont Lottery is ready to challenge the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models for 150 laps of heart-pounding action with each driver looking to join the coveted list of champions! Not to be overshadowed, WDEV Radio Vermont and Calkin’s Portable Toilets Night will also feature the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors will also go all out in feature racing excitement along with the world-famous Port-a-Potty Grand Prix with a Golden Toilet Seat waiting patiently in victory lane!

Barre, VT — With the fallout of July’s historic flooding, Thunder Road is challenging drivers, teams and fans to donate back to school supplies for children directly affected by the natural disaster. In coordination with The Renita Marshall Helping Hands Foundation, race teams and fans will have five events at Thunder Road starting this Thursday, July 27th through August 10th to donate as many school supplies as possible with the academic year approaching for affected students across the state of Vermont.

Barre, VT — With a quickly turned around and rescheduled night of racing at Thunder Road following SRX’s cancellation, the Central Vermont community returned to The Nation’s Site of Excitement in droves for First Responders Appreciation Night on July 20th. The night gave way with four new winners in the 2023 season and four action-packed feature races to restart the Thunder Road championship season.

Barre, VT — After Thunder Road officials announced back in February an all-new Super Saturday special on August 12th with all four divisions gunning for extra-money showdowns on a rare Saturday excursion on the highbanks, a new sponsor stepped into the spotlight. Recently, McGee Hyundai of Barre joined up to support the new and exciting venture as the signature sponsor of the evening’s activities and the newest member of Thunder Road’s vast family of supporters.

Barre, VT — Thunder Road officials, drivers and fans are ready to return to racing at the Barre Speedbowl with the newly announced First Responders Appreciation Night this coming Thursday, July 20th. In the wake of Monday’s severe flooding throughout Central Vermont, Thunder Road is offering Free Admission to all First Responders and both State and Local highway employees for their efforts to get Vermont back on track! It will be two weeks since these racers have seen the track, many of whom are coming off one of the hottest Times Argus Midseason Championships in recent memory.
