Switser Survives Chaotic 50-Lap Special, Post-Race Tech, for Street Stock Win

Barre, VT — Finally greeted by a beautiful day of weather, Thunder Road opened its gates Sunday to an overflow crowd of fans ready to witness the greatest spectacle in auto racing; The 39th annual Bolduc Metal Recycling Enduro 200. ‘The People’s Race’ was far from disappointing with ninety of the most ridiculous looking machines in the Green Mountain State each looking to tackle the Thunder Road highbanks for 200 laps. When it was all said and done, after many years of trying, a deserving Bay State driver finally made his mark on the Bolduc Metal Recycling Enduro history books.

Barre, VT — The time has come for one of the biggest, most spectacular displays of insanity one will ever see on the highbanks of Thunder Road! Sunday, August 6th brings the 39th annual Bolduc Metal Recycling Enduro 200. Dubbed ‘The People’s Race,’ the annual Enduro 200 gives everyone the chance to leave the grandstands, hop the fence and take on their favorite Speedbowl relatively cheaply for the glory, the fun and a chance to pocket $3,000 and join an exclusive list in the Thunder Road history books.

Barre, VT — While Thunder Road officials and teams tried to beat out the rain on Thursday, August 3rd, Mother Nature had other plans. Following qualifying for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers and after a lap-two caution in the first heat race for the rk Miles Street Stocks, the skies opened up once again to pour down on Thunder Road. With the rain remaining prevalent and lightning in the area, officials opted to postpone the remainder of Thursday’s program to Sunday, August 20th.

Barre, VT — After trying to beat out the rain on Thursday, Thunder Road got beat, and beat bad. After drying out the track enough to get the three Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger heat race qualifiers and set the field for the Myers Container Service Triple Crown championship 100-lap event, a much heavier rain-cell moved in on top of the first rk Miles Street Stock heat race. While the Thunder Road safety crew attempted to dry out the racing surface once again, another cell moved in that pushed officials to postpone the remainder of the show.

Barre, VT — As we turn the calendar over to August in disbelief that the end of summer is just over a month away, so too do we prepare to crown the first Thunder Road champion of the 2023 season. Cody Chevrolet/Cadillac Night this Thursday, August 3rd will feature 100 laps of Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger action in the final Myers Container Service Triple Crown event of the season. Along with crowning the Myers Triple Crown champion, the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors all return to the Nation’s Site of Excitement this Thursday.

Barre, VT — After the last month Vermonters have faced, Thunder Road finally got a break in the form of a perfect day for racing. Partly cloudy, minimal humidity and a comfortable breeze made many a crew-member happy in the pit area and the filled grandstands certainly proved the same sentiment was felt on the other side of the fence. When all the dust settled, several fan-favorite drivers made the trip to Thunder Road victory lane, with the Thunder Road legend continuing in year 64.
