NASCAR’s Ryan Preece will Attempt to Join Iconic Governor’s Cup Win List

Barre, VT – The Nation’s Site of Excitement is back in rip-roaring action high atop Quarry Hill in Barre this Thursday evening for the 47t running of the Vermont Lottery Governor’s Cup 150! The final, championship round in the Squier Cup Triple Crown presented by Milton CAT will also feature NASCAR Cup Series winner Ryan Preece who will attempt to bring the Vermont Governor’s Cup back to North Carolina while NASCAR Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski will also be on site for an autograph session.

The Maplefields/Irving Late Models are ready to crown the third Squier Cup Triple Crown champion in one of Vermont’s longest running stock car events. The Vermont Lottery Governor’s Cup 150 is the final round in the Squier Cup with Kaiden Fisher currently leading the standings by five points over Brandon Gray and six points over track championship point leader Jason Corliss. Corliss is looking to become the first driver to go back-to-back in Squier Cup championships while also gunning for his fifth Governor’s Cup triumph.

Ryan Preece is looking to better his 10th-place finish he earned in the 2021 Vermont Lottery Governor’s Cup while also surpassing Ken Schrader’s record 6th-place finish to become the highest finishing NASCAR ringer at Thunder Road! Both Preece and his boss, 2012 NASCAR Cup Series Champion Brad Keselowski, will be on hand Thursday to sign autographs from 5:15pm to 6:00pm.

Brendan Moodie continues his stand atop the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers with another 50-lap trophy dash in his sights this Thursday. It looks like it’s his championship in hand but, Logan Powers and Derrick Calkins are among those drivers who are coming back around as the nights get cooler. Chris LaForest, Robert Gordon and Ty Delphia remain the only drivers among the top-ten in points still in the hunt for win number one in 2026.

Hayden Bushey has clawed his way up the ladder all season long to finally stand atop the rk Miles Street Stock standings after last Thursday’s podium finish. Bushey now leads Tyler Wheatley by 14 points going into the Vermont Lottery Governor’s Cup night all while still trying to nail down his first career Street Stock win at the age of 13! Top rookie Zachary Garvey is the only other non-winner among the top-ten drivers and would love nothing more than to take the win after several podium finishes in his freshman year.

Thunder Road welcomes NASCAR Cup Series stars Ryan Preece and Brad Keselowski to the Nation’s Site of Excitement this Thursday, August 20 for the 47th Vermont Lottery Governor’s Cup 150. Preece will try to go all the way while the Maplefields/Irving Late Models will crown the 2026 Squier Cup champion alongside the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers and rk Miles Street Stocks with a special 6:30pm Post Time.
