Can Powers Go Two-for-Two in Myers Triple Crown Competition on VT Construction Night?
/Barre, VT – The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers are set to headline the Thursday Night action at Thunder Road once again this week on Vermont Construction Night at The Road! The second round in the Myers Container Service Triple Crown will send ‘North America’s #1 Support Division’ into a 75-lap frenzy alongside the Maplefields/Irving Late Models, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors for a full card of weekly racing action!
Former Myers Container Service Triple Crown champion Logan Powers is hot to trot in search of number two after taking his first career Triple Crown showdown back in June. Powers has been pulling double duty with two cars this year at both Thunder Road and White Mountain Motorsports Park, among the top five in points at both tracks. Powers would love nothing more than to double down in Myers Container Service competition on Vermont Construction Night, but he’s got plenty of competition standing in his way.
Brendan Moodie and Cameron Ouellette both trail Powers in the Myers points and they’ve also been among the most consistent Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger drivers this summer. Ouellette is still in the hunt for win number one for 2025 while Moodie will be looking for his second of the season and his second Myers Triple Crown win. It’ll be hard to count out the likes of Sam Caron, Jason Woodard, Rich Lowrey and Derrick Calkins, among others, with many teams heading to White Mountain this Saturday for the first of two $2,000 to win 100 lap showdowns at both tracks this summer!
Jason Corliss continues to lead the Maplefields/Irving Oil Late Model standings while opening day winner Bryan Wall Jr. has creeped back into second place after several refocused weeks on the highbanks. Marcel Gravel and Brandon Lanphear will be ones to watch this week, both drivers looking to recover from an early wreck last Thursday to get back on track with a win on Vermont Construction Night.
The rk Miles Street Stocks have had the most shake-ups in the past several weeks. Season-long leaders Jamie Davis, Dean Switser and Kyler Davis all found themselves mired in heavy traffic last week to finish outside the top fifteen leaving Waterbury’s Ryan Foster to lead the standings coming into Vermont Construction Night. Right behind Foster is another former Road Warrior stand-out in ‘Flyin’ Fred Fleury currently tied up in second with Kyler Davis. We’ll have to wait and see how this week’s 25 lap Vermont Construction trophy dash will affect the season-long title chase.
The Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors also return on Thursday, one last showdown before a planned off week during the Vermont Lottery Governor’s Cup 150 program next Thursday. Will they conserve for an easy week of rest and recuperation or will they be going all in for the Vermont Construction win?
Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl is back in action Thursday, July 10 for Vermont Construction Night headlined by Round #2 in the Myers Container Service Flying Tiger Triple Crown. The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers will go for 75 laps alongside the Maplefields/Irving Late Models, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors with a 7:00pm Post Time. Adult general admission is set at $15, kids 12-6 are $5 with children 5 and under free! The Family Four Pack (two adults, two kids) is also available for $30 with grandstands opening at 5:00pm.
