Barre, VT – Following Friday’s deadline for license renewal ahead of the start of the 2026 season, the Thunder Road office has received a slew of rk Miles Street Stock entries for the upcoming year including the start of a strong rookie class in the four-cylinder ranks. Two former Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warrior drivers are making the step up the Thunder Road ladder while a pair of outside youngsters are ready to take on The Road for the first time in 2026!

Milton’s Zachary Garvey and Graniteville’s Derrick Mann are both making the step up to the rk Miles Street Stocks this summer. These former Road Warriors continue to have the backing of their experienced family teams and remain the early front runners for the 2026 Rookie of the Year title. Garvey will run the #77VT Vermont Coatings Chevy Cavalier while Mann will return with his #27VT White Stone Farms Cavalier with both drivers working hard on updates in the off-season to mount a strong start in May.

A new driver comes to us from the Rocky Mountains after growing up behind the wheel of Quarter Midgets and even got to try F3 road racing on Pikes Peak, but has called Colchester home for some time now. Mr. Greyson Reen is stepping into the rk Street Stocks this year in the Lookin 4 The Green Landscaping Ford Mustang and prepares to take on Thunder Road for the first time this year.

Our second newbie started out in the White Mountain Motorsports Park Kid’s Division last summer and has one Thunder Road start under his belt at last year’s Vermont Milk Bowl. Young Owen Dupuis is set to make his Street Stock debut with the rest of the class on Sunday, May 3 during the 28th annual Community Bank 150 season opener!

“The rk Miles Street Stocks always seem to gather a great rookie class each year,” said Thunder Road general manager Cale King. “This first look at our freshman drivers promises a lot of action and I expect it’ll be fun to keep track of all season long.”
