Barre, VT – Thunder Road Speedbowl officials are excited to announce the continued partnership with EastRise Credit Union and the Labor Day Classic 200. EastRise Credit Union came on board back in 2022 and has agreed to an extension of their support through the 2028 season at the Nation’s Site of Excitement!

“EastRise Credit Union is proud to continue our partnership with Thunder Road and the iconic Labor Day Classic 200,” said Sarah Ricker, Community Relationship Manager at EastRise. “This event brings together racers and fans from across the region, and we’re thrilled to be part of its energy and tradition for the next three years. We look forward to cheering on the drivers, supporting the teams, and celebrating a community experience unlike any other.”

With Vermont roots going back over 75 years, EastRise is a true local partner that provides financial tools and guidance to over 170,000 members in Vermont and beyond. EastRise exists as an alternative to traditional banking systems, helping people and communities build stronger, more sustainable financial futures. From trusted digital banking and a relationship-first approach to affordable home ownership and green lending, EastRise is committed to doing better and raising the bar for everyone.

The Labor Day Classic got its start during Thunder Road’s inaugural season in 1960 and enjoyed an 18-year run as the annual summer-ending spectacular for the original open-wheeled coupes, then later the original Flying Tiger class and the famed Northern NASCAR Late Model Sportsman series of the 1970s. What came next was a big change with the Vermont Milk Bowl annually taking place on Labor Day weekend between 1982 and 1996 before the Classic made its grand return in 1997 with the NASCAR Busch North Series. The Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour Late Models stepped back into the limelight in 2004 and it’s been a 200 lap affair ever since.

The EastRise Credit Union Labor Day Classic remains a challenging title fight for both the local Maplefields/Irving Late Models and the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour traveling teams with 200 laps of action under the Thunder Road lights!

“We’re glad to have great local partners like EastRise Credit Union,” said Thunder Road Managing Partner Cris Michaud. “Their enthusiasm for the sport has been a welcome addition to the Thunder Road family these past few years and we’re glad to see them extend their partnership with us for years to come.”
