Bergamot + Amor Partners with Calkins Portable Toilets to Present the World Famous Port-a-Potty Grand Prix at Thunder Road!
/Barre, VT – Thunder Road officials are proud to announce that Williamstown’s Bergamot + Amor have signed on to partner with Calkins Portable Toilets of Danville to present the Thursday, July 30 showcase at Thunder Road Speedbowl. Headlined by the ‘World Famous’ Port-a-Potty Grand Prix, the July 30 event also includes racing action from the Maplefields/Irving Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors and the start of the Alera Group Triple Crown for the rk Miles Street Stocks!
Bergamot + Amor was founded during the 2020 pandemic from the budding start to a loving relationship and a simple Instagram post featuring the first of many leather handbags that kick-started their existence. Within just the first few months, owners Amanda and Peter Shangraw created and sold over 1,000 handcrafted bags across thirty states and three countries. That number has certainly grown since then, all of them hand made right in Williamstown, Vermont and crafted with hard work, passion, and creativity that make each and every piece uniquely homegrown here in Vermont.
The Port-a-Potty Grand Prix has long been one of Thunder Road’s most unique and anticipated events of the summer. One of the many dreamed up novelties of the late, great Ken Squier, the Port-a-Potty Grand Prix consists of four homemade outhouses on wheels courtesy of the three point leaders and one elected Road Warrior team following the Times Argus Midseason Championships. The Golden Throne trophy is truly one of the most coveted at the Nation’s Site of Excitement!
“We’re very excited to have Bergamot + Amor join the Thunder Road family of partners,” said Thunder Road general manager Cale King. “Amanda, Peter and crew are an amazing example of Vermont craftsmanship and we’re proud to support what makes our state great at the Nation’s Site of Excitement!”
